π Local transcription keeps audio entirely on your device. Pro users may optionally choose cloud transcription, which temporarily sends audio to Groq or Soniox for processing. Clipsule does not retain or share your audio after processing.
Clipsule ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the Clipsule iOS application ("App").
Clipsule offers Local Processing and Cloud Processing. Local Processing is available to Free and Pro users and runs transcription on your device using a local Whisper model. Cloud Processing is an optional Pro feature that sends audio through our backend to a cloud transcription provider. The App identifies the selected processing method before transcription begins.
When you select Local Processing, audio transcription is performed entirely on your device using a local Whisper model. Your audio is not uploaded to Clipsule, Groq, Soniox, or any other transcription provider. Locally generated transcripts and summaries remain on your device unless you separately use a cloud-powered feature.
When a Pro user selects Cloud Processing, the following data is processed only as needed to provide the requested feature:
Clipsule does not sell cloud-processed audio or transcripts, share them for advertising, or use them to train AI models. Groq and Soniox receive this content solely as service providers performing transcription on our behalf.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage Pro subscription access and may process an anonymous app user identifier, device and app information, App Store receipt data, product identifiers, purchase dates, expiration dates, renewal status, and related transaction metadata. RevenueCat does not receive your audio, transcripts, or summaries.
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude). We may collect anonymized, aggregated crash logs via Apple's built-in crash reporting system (with your permission at iOS system level) to improve app stability.
We use the information collected solely to:
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Depending on the features you choose, Clipsule uses the following service providers:
When you use Local Processing, Groq and Soniox are not used and your audio is not transmitted for transcription. Apple and RevenueCat may still process subscription information if you purchase or manage Pro.
Clipsule is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Clipsule does not require an account or maintain a profile containing your audio history. All your summaries and transcripts are stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time from within the app (History screen β swipe to delete).
Subscription records are managed by Apple and RevenueCat. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your Apple ID subscription settings. For privacy requests concerning data controlled by Clipsule, contact us using the details below.
To remove the anonymous device token and reset your rate limit counter, you can delete and reinstall the app.
We take security seriously. Our backend uses HTTPS for all communications, certificate pinning on the iOS client, and API keys are never stored in the app binary. Anonymous device tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify users via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
